Sleeper QB putting together a big season

Downingtown (Pa.) Downingtown West quarterback Nolan Kearney has led his team to an impressive season thus far. Despite that, the big 6-foot-4, 231-pound quarterback doesn't hold an offer, but is getting plenty of interest.
"The season is going well," he said. "We're probably the best team in the area and average 38-points a game. We're scoring from all ends of the field. We had 500-yards of total offense last week and lost.

"The difference this year is that we're playing better. I've been doing well too. I'm completing 65% of my passes for 1,200 yards, nine touchdowns and one interception. This is my best year by far. I think it's because I've stopped worrying about the recruiting process and am just letting it come to me now."
On the recruiting trail, Kearney has had some tough luck.
"It's been difficult," he said. "Connecticut was real interested and then they got a transfer. Florida State was looking for awhile and their quarterback coach was fired. Boston College was looking and then coach O'Brien left for NC State. He still recruited me, but then got Mike Glennon. Duke also called and said they'd offer if I commit, but I wasn't ready. It's been a bunch of weight stuff.
"Right now though, I'm hearing from a lot of MAC schools. Personally if I'm going to the MAC, I'd rather just play in the Ivy League and get a great education. I'm still in touch with Michigan, Pittsburgh and Rutgers. Those seem like my best opportunities."
Kearney confirmed there are no favorites at this time.
"I'm just keeping my options open, I'm hoping schools like Connecticut, Illinois, Purdue and others like my film."
As for the Ivy League, Brown and Penn have already shown and interest. Kearney is clearly favoring one of those two.
"Penn is my favorite if I go that way because I have ties there. My parents are really stressing academics more than anything else, so that's definitely an option."
Although he got an invitation from Michigan to come for an unofficial, the Keystone State quarterback has no visits planned at this time.
