Sleeper QB lands first offer

Quarterback Jeff Tuel (6-2, 190, 4.63) from Clovis (Calif.) Clovis West entered the season as one of the Golden State's biggest sleeper prospects after sitting behind Cal bound, Beau Sweeney.
After a very proactive spring where Tuel worked hard by attending camps and combines, the hard work has paid off as the sleeper signal caller has received his first offer.

"I just received my first offer from Washington State," Tuel said. "They have been on me from day one."
"I sent Washington State film of me from the Elite 11 and the NFTC (NIKE football training camp) and they liked what they saw," Tuel said. "They invited me up to their camp, but I was unable to attend due to previous obligations."
"We just got done with our full contact camp at Fresno State and I made some plays," Tuel said. "We had scrimmages and I sent Washington State tape from the camp and Coach Todd Sturdy met with head coach Paul Wulff and they watched the film."
"Earlier that day, Coach Wulff emailed me stating that he wanted to talk to me, but he didn't leave a time," Tuel said. "So I called Coach Sturdy to make sure they received the film and at that time, Coach Sturdy told me to call Coach Wulff at around 7:00 PM."
"Coach Wulff started out by explaining to me that he liked all of my upside and then he said that is why we're going to offer you a scholarship," Tuel said. "It made me feel very good and almost relieved in a sense."
"I didn't commit because I want to wait until I get up there and check out Washington State's campus and facilities," Tuel said. "I plan in heading up there in early August."
Besides Washington State, Tuel is getting serious recruiting attention from Fresno State, Nevada, San Jose State and San Diego State.
