Position: Quarterback
Size and Speed: Nielson stands 6-foot-1, weighs 175 pounds and runs the 40 in 4.6. Another nice trait of a quarterback is intelligence. Nielson has that one down pat. He carries a very heady 3.85 GPA.
Honors: Nielson was 5A State Player of the Year, Area Offensive Player of the Year, Conference Offensive Player of the Year and League Player of the Year. He was also selected first-team all-state as a quarterback.
Statistics: To get all the honors that were bestowed on Nielson you have to have a huge year and huge year Nielson had. He threw for 3,161 yards for 31 touchdowns and only eight interceptions. He also had 95 yards on the ground scoring four more touchdowns in the process.
Favorite Colleges: Utah State is the only school that has shown interest at this time. Look for this change.
Skinny: Nielson is a sleeper prospect from a state that isn’t known for turning out football players. The Gem State has over the past few years sent some talent to the D-I and two of its most successful favorite sons from Idaho Jake Plummer and Cody Pickett are quarterbacks.
Nielson has a shot at being another player to play on the next level.
Nielson has strong arm and can make all the throws. He also good feet and can throw the run. One thing that has been noticed about Nielson is his excellent technique. He has good pocket awareness and sets up well.
Though not a lot is known about Nielson the folks in Idaho think this is a sleeper about to wake the recruiting world.
