Sleeper QB has golden arm

There have been a few cases where a quarterback waited patiently behind a talented D-I bound quarterback for his turn to start. These guys end up being called late bloomers, but in the recruiting game it is better late than never.
One quarterback who going to get his first chance at starting this fall will be Blake Loncar (6-4, 215, 4.9) from Rancho Cucamonga (Calif.) Los Osos.

Loncar has been busy getting his experience on the junior varsity while backing up UCLA bound, Richard Brehaut.
Los Osos head coach Tom Martinez thinks he has another D-I bound quarterback to coach this coming fall.
"Blake has everything coaches look for in a quarterback," Martinez said. "He's 6-4 and has a very strong arm."
"The only negative thing about Blake is he played behind Richard last year," Martinez said. "He just hasn't played enough. He could have started at a lot of places last season."
"I'm excited to see how he grows," Martinez said. "We have a big summer planned for him with Passing League Tournaments so we can get him to play against the highest level of competition."
The scouting report on Loncar is he's a pocket style passer and a big arm. He's a hard worker, who is working on his quickness and footwork. He is working Athletic Republic, a company that specializes on improving speed and agility.
Loncar has a busy spring planned as he will attend the Under Armor Camp at Santa Monica College this Saturday and he will follow up that effort by attending the NIKE Camp to be held in Pala Alto in May.
While up in the Bay Area in May, he will take part in the Elite 11 regional camp in Berkeley.
Loncar is currently working out with quarterback coach Matt Bechtel who used to coach at Los Osos before taking a job on the junior college level. Bechtel is given a lot of credit for helping Brehaut get the polish needed to be a D-I quarterback.
In the weight room, Loncar's current bench is 255, squats 410, power cleans 245 and has recorded a 26.5 vertical jump.
