Sleeper QB accepts offer

Quarterback Jake Bernards (6-5, 200, 4.9) from Valencia (Calif.) West Ranch impressed onlookers at both the UCLA three day camp, and the Beyond 2000 Elite Camp last June (B2G) and even though he had a solid senior season, his team did not, but still he received a late offer and he decided to take it.
"Jake was offered a visit to San Diego State last weekend by their new staff," B2G sports facilitator Ron Allen said. "They offered him a scholarship and he accepted."

"To give you an indication on Jake's work ethic, even though he was excited about his commitment to San Diego State and tired because of all of his trip's activities," Allen said. "He still made to our camp by 2:00 PM this past Sunday."
"The new staff at San Diego State had an extra scholarship so they requested Jake's tape and they liked what they saw," Allen said. "They quickly offer him and trip and offered him while he was there. The rest is history."
Bernards was pretty much the offense for a 2-8 West Ranch team his senior season as he threw for 1,695 yards and 13 touchdowns. He also did a solid job running the football as he ended up with 322 rushing yards and added two more touchdowns on the ground.
The Aztecs land a player who is a diamond in the rough, who with some polish could end up being pretty good down the road.
