Sleeper pulls trigger

Defensive end Ansley Clevil (6-3, 240, 4.7) from Los Angeles (Calif.) Venice just returned from a terrific visit to Washington State. When we talked to him he was very close to committing but he wanted to take one more visit to UNLV.
But in the time that the story was written and this morning Clevil decided why wait and committed to Washington State.

"I went ahead and committed to Washington State last night," Clevil said. "That's where I'm headed and that's my final choice."
The Cougars have made a living on players like Clevil. He has a high ceiling and hasn't come close to scratching the surface of his potential."
In an earlier interview with Venice head coach Angelo Gasca he had the following to say about the newest Washington State Cougar.
"Ansley is a very much improved player," Gasca said. "He's stronger, he's much more physical and he has much more experience."
"This is only is second year playing football," Gasca said. "He was born in Haiti, but he is making up for lost time."
"Everybody doubles him now," Gasca said. "They always know where he's at on a passing downs."
"Ansley deserves everything he's about to get," Gasca said. "He's worked extremely hard and he's a great young man."
Clevil has been selected first-team defensive end all-league after racking up approximately 70 tackles and 15 sacks in 2005.
Cougars win Clevil's services over UNLV and Mississippi State.
