Sleeper prospect emerging

Most every recruitnek by now is familiar with Poway, Calif., tight end Ryan Deehan. There is another player from Poway who is also getting looks from D-I schools and he's the kind of player who with a good senior season could end up being high sought after.
The player in question is free safety/wide receiver Jared Relyea (6-3, 205, 4.6).

Relyea has the versatility that colleges love their athletes to have. He could end up playing any number of positions on the D-I level.
Relyea projects as a linebacker of safety in college but for his senior season for Poway, he will play safety, corner and linebacker on the defensive side of the ball while on offense he will line up as a wide receiver.
"Jared will be everything for us," Poway coach Damion Gonzalez said. "He will be our go to guy on offense.
"Jared will be on special teams and a special player on defense," Gonzalez said. "Meaning we will line him up at several positions. Depending on the situation, he will line up at safety, cornerback and linebacker.
"Jared is that kind of player," Gonzalez said. "He's a playmaker who can make an impact is a lot of different ways."
From his wide receiver position, Relyea had 40 receptions for 615 yards and six touchdowns.
As a defensive back, Relyea racked up 56 tackles and had five picks. He picked off two passes in the championship game last season in only one half of football. He had to sit out the second half due to a injury.
Relyea is a sleeper at this point but he is getting recruiting attention from Utah, San Diego State and Boise State.
One to keep tabs on this fall.
