Sleeper passes look test

There are many reasons if invited to attend NIKE Camps. Not only do you get expert coaching that will help a player on the football field in the fall, but if you're a sleeper you can catch the eye of people in attendance and thus get on the recruiting map.
One player who certainly passed the look test at the NIKE Camp held in Los Angeles in April was wide receiver/defensive end Theo Sharp (6-2, 205, 4.7) from Spring Valley (Calif.) Monte Vista.

Sharp played behind two starters who were excellent high school football players. This season big things are expected out of Sharp as he is projected to shine in 2005.
"We're going to see how Theo does coming off the edge," Monte Vista coach Page Culver said. "Theo is very quick off the ball and we're going to see if he can put pressure on the quarterbacks we play."
"Theo is tall, lanky and has great jumping ability," Culver said. "On the offensive side of the ball he has the ability to go deep and go up and get the ball with his leaping ability."
"Right now Theo is a sleeper but when colleges come by and eyeball him, they will be very interested in him," Culver said. "He has a lot of untapped potential."
"Theo has a chance to do some great things for us this fall," Culver said. "He could blossom into a very good football player this fall."
Monte Vista is one of the best football programs in San Diego County and always attracts recruiters in droves. This spring will be no different.
Keep an eye on Sharp. If he lives up to his potential this fall he could end up getting highly recruited.
