Sleeper OL rates MD high

Chesapeake (Va.) Deep Creek offensive tackle Billy Cuffee took his second official visit of the season to Maryland this past weekend. The Terps offered the 6-foot-5, 330-pounder just a couple weeks back. What did Cuffee think about College Park?
"It was a very informative visit and it was nice that I got to be around the players and coaches a lot," he said. "I also got to see a lot of the campus and just how things operate there. I enjoyed my visit a lot and I like that I was able to meet all the assistants, strength coach and head coach.

"I got there on Friday and we first went to some academic meetings. Then later on Friday I went out with the players including my host Jaimie Thomas. He was a good host and showed me a very good time. He told me how great of a place Maryland is both athletically and academically.
"On Saturday I met with the coaches and had some one on one time with coach Friedgen and my mother. We talked mostly about his plan for me and if I came there I'd redshirt my freshman year and then compete next season. He also talked about the fact that they only have a few spots left. The thing that impressed me most was that he took time out personally to talk with me."
Cuffee rated his trip to Maryland an 8.5 or 9.
"I haven't been on a lot of visits, but this one was nice and I look forward to taking all my trips," he said. "Both this trip and Virginia were very nice and I had a good time on both, it's hard to compare them. I'd say that Maryland is in the upper realm of schools with Virginia, North Carolina State, Marshall and East Carolina."
The two-star prospect has scheduled an official to East Carolina on January 6th.
"I really like them because of my recruiting coach Shankweiler, I feel real comfortable with him," he said. "I still have a visit with Virginia Tech scheduled on January 20th too. I'm hoping just to see if it's somewhere I like and they've already said that once I get my scores they'll offer."
Cuffee has no plans for a fifth official right now. He lineman prospect plans to make a decision sometime around Signing Day.
