Sleeper OL makes late decision change

Longview (Texas) Pine Tree offensive tackle Joseph Klerekoper has been committed to UTEP since September, but after an official visit to Iowa State two weeks ago, the rising prospect decided to make a switch.
The 6-foot-6, 300-pounder made a new commitment to Iowa State after a Jan. 26 official visit to check out the Cyclones. With family in Iowa, Klerekoper just decided that ISU was best for him.

"I'm headed to Iowa State now," Klerekoper said. "I did that on Thursday. They had contacted me, I really liked the school, and I had family up there like my aunt and some other relatives in St. Louis.
"It's like a home away from home."
Klerekoper says that they've been very up front with him about playing time.
"They said I'm going to redshirt and then after that, I've got to earn a starting spot," Klerekoper said.
Klerekoper was being recruited by coach Robert McFarland.
"He's a pretty cool guy," Klerekoper said. "I actually talked with him and knew him from when he was at Stephen F. Austin."
