Sleeper needs big season

Woodland Hills (Calif.) Taft is home for diamond in the rough. His name is Brandon Walker (6-1, 185, 4.58). Walker played out of position as a junior when he played defensive end. He will move to his more natural position outside linebacker in 2004.
“Brandon really stepped it up while playing at the Beverly Hills passing league tournament,” Taft coach Troy Starr said. “He showed nice range.”

“Brandon needs a big senior season and get good senior footage for colleges to evaluate,” Starr said. “If he does he should get a D-I ride.”
The scouting report on Walker he’s very athletic and plays the game with great desire. He plays the game like each play could be his last.
Walker is very coachable and will do whatever is asked of him to help the team.”
According to Walker, he racked up 45 tackles and accounted for seven sacks as a junior.
Walker has been working hard this off-season because he knows what’s at stake. His bench is 275, he squats 395 and he has recorded a 28-inch vertical jump.
UTEP, San Diego State and San Jose State are showing interest in Walker.
A big year is expected out of Walker and if plays up to Starr’s expectations, he will change in his sleeper status and become a prospect.
