Sleeper LB sees interest rise

Salesianum (Dela.) Salesianum School linebacker Jim Custer is back from injury that kept him out a majority of his junior season. Recruiting is picking up for the 6-foot-1, 215-pounder as he is putting together a solid season.
"Our team is 3-0 and I'm playing both ways," he said. "I was actually trying to play fullback and then someone got hurt and I stepped up to play guard."

Custer was out with a collarbone injury, but is completely healed. How's he playing this year?
"It's definitely an adjustment learning to go both ways," he said. "It's going great though. I'm a captain this year and I feel I'm a lot faster. In the offseason, I really focused on my speed and quickness. I've been told by schools I have the frame and now I'm playing at about 215."
Custer claims one scholarship from Monmouth and has numerous other schools eyeing him.
"I just got back from the Harvard-Brown game," he said. "Brown is recruiting me. It was amazing up there. I got to go in the locker room that was really cool.
"I'm also hearing from Villanova. A few other schools including Temple, Delaware, Maryland, William & Mary and James Madison want tape this season."
Custer is eyeing trips to Villanova and Temple in the near future.
