Justin Haddix says interest is
picking up from one of the teams on his short list late in the recruiting
process.
"Ohio U. is showing a whole lot of interest now," he
said. "I talked to them a couple of times recently, and they want to set up an
official visit. It sounds like they're going to be offering a scholarship after
they talk about it with their other coaches a little bit."
Haddix (6-2, 193, 4.7) also has an offer from Eastern
Kentucky and is receiving interest from Marshall, Clemson and Illinois to
various degrees.
"I've been real busy with basketball, so I've missed a
few calls and not been able to set up my other official visits yet," he said.
"But my coach is trying to help me with that."
As a senior, Haddix led Breathitt County to the Class 2A
state championship. In the process, he broke former Louisville Male quarterback
Chris Redman's record for touchdown passes in a single season with 58. He
finished his senior season with 4,355 yards passing (the third highest total in
state history), 1,115 yards rushing and 19 touchdowns on the ground.
