Sleeper getting notice

Sleeper prospect Marquel Martin (5-11, 180, 4.5) from Rialto, Calif., played on a team that finished 0-10 in 2003 and still he was selected all-league as an outside linebacker.
Though Martin played linebacker on the high school level he projects as a safety in college. He will also play some offense this coming season. Martin will play both running back and wide receiver as a senior.

From his linebacker spot, Martin racked up 72 tackles, four pass knockdowns, three sacks and one pick.
Martin is very strong for his size as his 315 pound would indicate. He also squats 400 pounds and recorded a 35-inch vertical at UCLA’s football camp last June.
Martin also impressed onlookers with 4.4 forty at the East Los Angeles NIKE speed camp. That 4.4 time is Martin’s best ever time, he does run a steady 4.5 in the forty.
It is hard to get attention when you play on a 0-10 team but Martin was able to get noticed. This sleeper has heard from UCLA, Stanford, Washington, Oregon State and Colgate.
If Martin has the type of season he expects out of himself, he is another who could come out of the woodworks and earn a D-I scholie.
