Sleeper El Paso QB has been discovered

Out in El Paso (Texas) Burgess High School, there is a quarterback that is quickly becoming the bearer of numerous schools' attention.
The 6-foot-5, 200-pound John Skelton who plays three sports in high school may be a star on the baseball field and basketball court, but has chosen to focus on his football talents. Texas Tech, Arkansas, Wisconsin, Army, Arizona State, and others agree on his choice to take snaps on the turf.

"I really like Texas Tech," Skelton said. "Their offense that they run and how many points they score is ridiculous. I went there for their junior day, saw the campus and everything – it went very well."
With the Red Raiders being the favorite doesn't mean his recruitment is all wrapped up. Skelton, who is still waiting on his first offer, is going to take some trips but not until after the summer.
"I'm probably not going to do anything visit-wise until the football season or even after," Skelton said. "I've been talking to some coaches and stuff so we'll see what happens."
His father who played for UTEP has told his son about the program, but wants him to explore all options.
"I know that the program is really trying to get turned around and get in the right direction," he said. "I'm sure my dad would love for me to go there, but right now he wants me to look outside of El Paso and that's nothing against UTEP. I just want to explore my options."
