Sleeper DT stock on a rise

Junior to Watch: James Castillo
School: Los Angeles (Calif.) Cathedral

Position: Defensive Tackle/Tight End.
Size and Speed: Castillo stands 6-foot-3, weighs in at 260 pounds and runs the forty in 4.85. He benches 325, squats 475 and has a very solid GPA of 3.0.
Honors: Castillo was selected all-CIF, all-area and all-league as a junior.
Statistics: James logged 64 tackles, 12 tackles for loss and 6 sacks as a junior. He was able to achieve
Favorite Colleges: Castillo is already getting recruiting interest from Boston College, Illinois, Nebraska, Oregon, Washington, Arizona State, and Cal.
Skinny: “James is considered the best defensive lineman in the school’s history,” Cathedral assistant Coach Derwin Henderson said. “To give an indication how talented James is both of our defensive ends were signed by colleges this past February.”
“James is very strong fights off blocks well and is very athletic,” Henderson said “We even used him at tight end at various times last season.”
“Don't be surprised if he lines up at FB in short yardage situations at times during the season,” Henderson said. “James will be moved around this year on defense because teams ran away from his side last season.”
Castillo may be a bit unheralded at this time but look for his stock to soar this spring and onto the season. Castillo is definitely player on the upward move.
