Sleeper DT stands out in camps

Don't be surprised if you hear more about defensive tackle Tre Hale (6-3, 285) from La Verne (Calif.) Damien. He is somewhat a sleeper because he only played one league game as a junior since he broke his wrist and had to sit out the rest of the season. He is now back in good health and raring to go.
Even though Hale, missed most of his junior season because of his injury, he still showed enough to D-I colleges to get on their recruiting lists. He backed up their faith and went to several camps this spring and summer.

"I'm doing very well actually, but the whole recruiting process is definitely stressful, as you already know," Hale said. "Actually I have a couple schools looking at me. They are Nebraska, Stanford, Yale, Princeton, Utah State, Utah, Oklahoma, USC, Cal, Oregon, Washington, Boise State, Nevada, and Penn. Other schools like Ohio State, Alabama, and Texas have sent me things as well.
"I did get the opportunity to go to some camps this summer, I went to Nebraska, Stanford, and USC," Hale said. "They were all very fun and informative, and actually I performed well enough in Nebraska to receive an invitation to the head football office to talk to Coach Pelini (Bo Pelini) and discuss their interest in me becoming a future Husker.
"My performance at the USC camp was also good enough to gain the attention of Coach Ruel (USC offensive line coach Pat Ruel)," Hale said. "He (Ruel), now is very interested and is waiting to receive my film so he can further evaluate me as a future Trojan.
"My performance at the Stanford camp was also good enough to gain the interest of the coaches even more then I already had," Hale said. "It definitely was a good summer for me as far as camps are concerned, I was very happy with my performance."
The hard working Hale, currently benches 315 and squats 475 and he recently ran a 4.9 shuttle run.
