Sleeper DT sets two official visits

Despite an excellent senior year and a solid showing at the Shrine Bowl, Batesburg (S.C.) Batesburg-Leesville defensive tackle Paul McKiever's recruiting process hasn't gone exactly as he planned. But after recently clearning some academic hurdles, he's hoping that changes over the next few weeks.
He already has an official visit set up to Georgia Southern on Jan. 16 and is planning to take on to South Carolina on Jan. 23. According to the 6-foot-2, 269-pound lineman, talks have recently rekindles with him and the Gamecocks.

"We haven't really talked a lot about it because they were concerned about whether or not I was going to be eligible and I just took the SAT and I got the score I needed, "he said. "It took everything off of me. It was a lot easier this time. A lot of schools have been waiting on that score so now we'll see what happens."
McKiever said he remains high on South Carolina and if he had his druthers he would end up in Columbia.
"I really like it up there," he said. "I love the how hard they play and even though it was a down year for them I feel like I can come in and help a lot."
If all goes according to plan, McKeiver will announce his commitment close to National Signing Day. As a senior, McKiever recorded 105 total tackles, four sacks, four forced fumbles and one interception.
