Sleeper DE Waking Up Recruiters

Englewood (N.J.) Bergen Catholic defensive end Jamaal Jones is flying under the radar of some schools, but others certainly know the name well. The 6-foot-3, 242-pounder has a good idea about which schools he likes.
“Right now I like Maryland, Ohio State, Iowa, NC State and Virginia Tech,” he said. “I don’t really have a set order yet.”

Jones, who had six sacks last season and 15 tackles for a loss, won’t make his decision until after his senior season. He’ll camp at Maryland and Ohio State this summer and likes something different about each of his favorites.
“Maryland seems really interested in me and they now have a winning program. Ohio State – to play for them would be like living a dream. Iowa has a talented program and my father went to school there. NC State, I just really love the state of North Carolina and Virginia Tech has down to earth coaches.”
Jones has had numerous college coaches drop by his high school this spring including Iowa, Maryland, Virginia Tech, NC State, Ohio State, Miami, Florida, Michigan and many others. He doesn’t have any offers just yet, but they should be coming.
“I’m honored to be considered a top prospect.” He said.
