Sleeper DE favors Iowa, Virginia

James Saint Germain out of Bayonne (N.J.) Marist is a solid defensive end prospect coming out of the Garden State in 2006, a prospect that many people are just learning about.
The 6-foot-1, 245-pounder has already received interest from schools including Iowa, Virginia, Boston College, Connecticut, Maryland, Penn State, Pittsburgh and Rutgers, but who does he favor in the early going?

"He has shown an interest in Virginia and Iowa," said Marist head coach Jack Higgins. "He even attended Virginia's junior day."
This season Saint Germain helped the school to a 4-5 record as he posted 50 tackles and seven sacks.
"He was another one of the juniors who was a captain on the team this year," said Higgins. "He's a physically gifted kid who's a good offensive lineman, but as a defensive end he shines at our level and against the competition.
"He's almost unblockable at the defensive end spot because he's so quick with his first step off the line. He's still learning the game too and he has gotten better and quicker every year."
Saint Germain is another Marist star that is also a great student.
"I taught him as a freshman and now as a junior and he's a hardworking kid in the classroom," Higgins said. "He comes from a great family and is a wonderful young man."
This spring Saint Germain is looking at heading to the Blue Chip Combine at Rutgers in May.
