Sleeper DB no longer a secret

When it comes to top notch defensive backs in the southern region of the country, one name that has flown under the radar is Anderson (S.C.) T.L. Hanna corner Ameer Salahudin who is collecting offers behind the scenes and quickly rising up the charts.
The first three offers were Kentucky, Maryland, and NC State, but now the 5-foot-11, 180-pound defender has added to that list. North Carolina is another team with an offer extended to the No. 18 ranked player in the state of South Carolina. More scholarships could be added.

"LSU is a school I talked to and they really liked me and said to expect an offer," Salahudin said. "As far as favorites, that's too hard for me to say now. I'm going to take my official visits first and I've talked to so many schools, that I want to see all the places up close on my own before I say that."
Salahudin has been staying in contact with NC State, LSU, Maryland, and Kentucky the most throughout the recruiting process. He is in the process of setting up a few visits.
"I've talked with UNC and LSU about trips, but nothing is set up just yet," Salahudin said. "I want to get those over with and I'm playing in some all-star games, so after all that, I can make my decision by the end of the year."
As for what he is looking for in a college choice, the speedy defensive back just wants a place that he can feel comfortable with and take care of his academic goals.
"I want to major in sports management, so that's important for me to have in the school I choose," Salahudin said. "I also want to have outgoing coaches that are easy to get a long with. Plus, you want good facilities to train and practice at, so those are all things I'm looking in to when it comes to my choice."
As a junior, Salahudin recorded 44 tackles, six interceptions, and 17 pass breakups.
