Sleeper DB impresses at Auburn camp

Until this past weekend very few had heard about Albany (Ga.) Westover cornerback/wide receiver Aairon Savage. Then he showed up and showed out at the Auburn mini-camp on Saturday.
“I have no offers,” Savage said. “I really haven’t been getting all that much attention until recently either. I have been getting letters from Wake Forest, Vanderbilt, Auburn, Clemson and Louisville. No one really called me in May or anything like that though.”

The 5-foot-11, 175-pound Savage ran the 40-yard dash in 4.48 seconds at the Auburn camp.
“Right now I don’t really have any favorite schools or anything,” Savage said. “I guess the ones I would say that I’m considering right now are the schools that have been showing me some interest. I have never really been a fan of any one school in particular.”
Auburn is the only camp that Savage plans to attend this summer. He ran the shuttle in 4.21 seconds and posted a 37-inch vertical jump. He has a 245-pound bench press.
“The Auburn coaches came up to me and talked to me after the camp,” Savage said. “They told me that they liked what they saw of me out there and that they were interested and were going to start recruiting me harder. I am really just looking for a school that is close to home and that can offer me a good education and early playing time.”
