Sleeper DB grabbing early looks

Amarillo (Texas) Palo Duro is home to a sleeper cornerback in one Artevyous Evans and his first ice-breaking offer could be on the way.
New Mexico State, Iowa, UTEP, and SMU are sending some interest his way but the 6-foot 165-pound speedster could be on the verge of an offer from a distant school, away from the Lone Star state.

"My coach said that Purdue could be close to maybe sending me an offer," Evans said. "He said it's looking good, so I think they are the closest one. I'm going to visit them and New Mexico State probably this summer."
Other than tripping to some out-of-state schools, SMU looks like his first camp stop where he could increase his stock even more. The all-district cornerback watched the Big 12 power Oklahoma growing up, but has had little contact from them.
Regardless, he is looking to see what kind of interest picks up over the next few months. He will not jump on just anything.
"I'm going to wait a while, even after the first offer," Evans said. "If I don't hear from any other schools I like, I'll go with the one I have. There are a lot of schools talking with me so I'm just trying to figure it out."
"I guess I'm just looking for a good football program."
