Wilder said the offer Mississippi State was not only exciting, but a major relief.
"When they called they told me they had a scholarship with my name on it," Wilder said. "They said they want me to come down in early June and take a visit. It's the SEC, that's my dream."
Once he was invited for a visit, Wilder said he made it a priority to get it on the schedule.
"We already planned the visit for this week coming up," he said. "I just want to see a family environment and make sure the coaches are going to be good mentors for me and my momma has to like it. She's very important in the process, momma knows best so her opinion will matter."
Following his trip to Starkville, Wilder is planning on camping at South Carolina.
"Coach Ward told me that they want me but they want me to come up and show what I can do on June 13," Wilder said. "They told me that if they like and I do well that I can commit that day."
