Sleeper DB beginning to heat up

When you are a sleeper prospect, it is a good thing that you play on a team that has a guy who is going to be watched intently by D-I colleges.
Josh Harrison (6-0, 185, 4.5) from Oxnard (Calif.) Rio Mesa will benefit by being on the same team with Malachi Lewis (6-3, 215, 4.5).

Lewis is a prospect who is about to blow up and Harrison is player who will get looks because of the attention that is teammate is garnering.
Harrison is a great athlete who is considered a money player, meaning he makes plays when his team needs one most.
"Josh was a surprise to us on defense," Rio Mesa coach Bob Gregorchuk said. "He led the team in interceptions and breakups while only playing on the defensive side of the ball during the last part of the season."
"A lot of his interceptions came at crucial times for us," Gregorchuk said. "It was either on a third down conversion or a touchdown stop. He always seemed to step up at the crucial moment."
"Josh can jump out of the gym," Gregorchuk said. "He can out jump most of his competition with his 35-inch vertical jump."
"We are looking for Josh to have a breakout season for us and for himself," Gregorchuk said. "He has the ability to play on the D-I level. Right now Josh is working to get himself ready for the NIKE camp that will be held in April."
Washington State has invited Harrison to attend their spring practice. The Cougars do a great job uncovering players who fly under the radar.
On the defensive side of the ball, Harrison had 10 tackles and four picks. Remember these stats are for only the latter part of the season.
Offensively he was our third receiver who caught 13 passes for 193 yards and one touchdown while averaging 14.9 yards per catch.
Harrison was an all-league selection as a junior.
