Sleeper about to wake up

The Antelope Valley in Southern California can always be counted on D-I prospects but this year it looks like there will be even more than usual. The following player to be profiled played running back but he will also play defense for his senior season.
The player in question is Dominic Blood (5-11, 205, 4.54) from Palmdale, Calif.

Blood was an all-CIF Division III, all-league and was his team's MVP Back as a junior after rushing for 928 yards and 11 touchdowns in 2004. He also caught nine passes for 75 more yards and one touchdown through the air. Blood will also see action as an outside backer in 2005.
A hard worker in the weight room, Blood currently benches 285 pounds and squats 420.
"Dominic is another player who is deceptively fast," Palmdale coach Jeff Williams said. "In the open field he's hard to tackle."
"Dominic is going to be one of those guys that the college that signs him will be pleasantly surprised," Williams said. "Not only is he a good football player but he is team player."
"The reason that Dominic volunteered to play defense is he feels he can make the team better," Williams said. "I think he will make the team better by playing both ways."
The scouting report on Blood is he's great in the open field. He has what is called football speed. Once he's in the open field he's hard catch.
In the early going he is receiving attention from UNLV, Boise State and Portland State. Look for this list to expand this spring.
Blood is a definite D-I player with a solid senior season he could end up be very highly recruited.
