Sledge more open than ever

Apopka, Fla. athlete Eric Sledge is very confident in his abilities and with talent like his perhaps he should be. He now plays on both sides of the ball and is seeing his stock increase because of it.
“I went to the Central Florida-West Virginia last week,” Sledge said. “I had a lot of fun, but West Virginia killed them. I was really excited about seeing K.J. Harris play while I was there. He is a bad man.’

Sledge, who is 6-foot-2.5 and weighs 188 pounds, runs the 40-yard dash in 4.59 seconds.
“I am going to the LSU-Florida game in a few weeks I do know that,” Sledge said. “I have to look at the Miami schedule so I can get down there for a game. My uncle is a big Hurricane fan so he will be glad to take me down there. I have gotten some new offers from Mississippi State, Florida and NC State.”
As a junior Sledge mad 75 tackles, forced one fumble and intercepted two passes. He is being recruited to play both safety and wide receiver on the college level.
“My coach told me that I had some more offers in his office,” Sledge said. “He called and left a message on my machine and told me he would tell me this week. Right now I am kind of open, just seeing who all offers and getting more information on schools and stuff.”
At the Miami NIKE camp Sledge ran a 4.59-second 40-yard dash, ran a 4.34-second shuttle, did nine reps on the bench press and had a 27.4 inch vertical jump.
