Slaughter taking his time

Livonia (La.) running back Barrick Slaughter has already received several scholarship offers as he prepares for his senior season, and right now he is keeping an open mind to the recruiting process.
"To be honest I don't have a top five. My decision is still open," Slaughter said. "I have 12 offers right now. Everything is still open."

He is not ready to name any favorites or any leaders at this time, but one factor appears to be more important than others right now.
"I'm pretty much worried about my family and how far I'm going to be away from them," Slaughter said. "They don't want me to go out of state so me and them are going to have a big conversation."
His current plan is to make a Signing Day decision, and after the season he plans to check out as many options as possible.
"I plan on visiting all the colleges that have offered me after my season," Slaughter said.
Arkansas State, California, Kansas, ULL, SE Louisiana, Nicholls State, McNeese State, Lindenwood, Southern Miss, Stephen F. Austin, Utah State, and Western Kentucky have each extended offers, and Troy, ULM, and Tulane are among those continuing to express an interest.
