Slaughter adds offers, makes decision plans

Three more scholarship offers have come for linebacker Blake Slaughter and a plan for a decision is out in the open.
Slaughter, the 6-foot, 219-pound inside linebacker, says that Iowa State, Kansas, and Tulsa were the three most recent schools to offer. Other schools that have offered previously include Kansas State, Northwestern, Oklahoma State, Texas Tech, Louisiana Tech, Rice, SMU, and others.

"I spoke with coach Gene Chizik on Friday and he said that I reminded him a lot of Rashad Bobino," Slaughter said. "So that was exciting to hear. He told me they were offering.
"I heard from Kansas last Thursday. I talked with them and they just said they saw me at the NIKE (Training) Camp at TCU, saw my film, and really liked me. Tulsa was the most recent. I got their offer the day before yesterday."
Slaughter says the next course of action with his recruitment is narrowing his list down to five in June. Following that, he'd like to have a commitment made by August.
"I'm looking for a school that has a good mechanical engineering program and how they're going to help me do that successfully while playing football," Slaughter said. "Also, playing time will be up there and how I fit in at the school."
The Missouri City (Texas) Fort Bend Elkins defender had 124 total tackles, five sacks, and an interception as a junior.
