Skyler Thornton has reached his
college decision.
"I'm going to be a Florida Gator," he said. "I committed
down there on my official visit this weekend.
"They were my favorite all along. That's where I've
always wanted to play, but I just wanted to hold off on my decision until I went
down there again. The visit made it an easy choice. I'm relieved to have it all over."
Thornton, a member of the Rivals.com
Southeast Top 100 team and the
No. 16 running back in the nation, picked Florida over Arkansas, Clemson and
South Carolina.
"Everything was just real nice (at Florida)," he said. "I liked the players and coaches most of all. They made me feel real comfortable, and I can trust them."
Thornton (6-0, 195, 4.45) finished his senior season
with 1,591 yards, averaging 8 yards per carry, and scored 34 touchdowns. He
rushed for 30 scores and caught four touchdown passes in leading LaGrange to a
12-1 record.
