Skinner staying solid

MOBILE, Ala. – Deontae Skinner of Macon (Miss.) Noxubee County has been committed to Mississippi State for quite some time, and it sounds like he'll stay that way.
Skinner, who is 6-foot-2 and 230 pounds, said this week at the Alabama-Mississippi All-Star Classic that he's still heading to Starkville.

"I am firm to Mississippi State," he said. "They are recruiting me as a strong side linebacker," he said. "I am being recruited by Reed Stringer, and we've talked since coach Croom stepped down."
Skinner said he's excited about the new hire of Dan Mullen.
"I like it a lot," he said. "I have not had a chance to talk with him yet though. I am excited because he came from Florida, and he knows about winning."
Skinner said he hopes to do his best on Saturday in the game.
"It means a lot to me to represent my hometown," he said.
"I already knew everybody out here, except some of the offensive lineman. Number 77 (Aubrey Phillips) from Olive Branch has been really good. He has really good footwork and stays on his blocks."
