Six stand out to quick rising Texas QB

Ever since Midlothian, Texas quarterback Bryce Petty put on an impressive show at the Fort Worth Elite 11 Regional, his interest from college coaches has been on a steady incline. Currently, Petty has been going through Spring drills and has seen coaches flocking to his school.
"This past week was probably my best week as far as recruiting goes," Petty said. "Monday I had K-State and I think Oklahoma, their assistant came in during our fourth period.

"Tuesday, I had Tennessee come in, who is really a late school that all of the sudden popped up and they said they're real interested. Coach Clawson called and was talking to me. That was pretty cool, whether I'm their main guy or not. They said that I'm the main guy their looking for.
"I had been getting mail form Oklahoma and he told our head coach that he knew everything about me and they really liked me as a player and a person so that was really cool.
"Wednesday, Colorado came, Tulsa came, Portland State, the school that's offered me and Air Force was there."
All of the attention has been a flattering experience for Petty who has seen his stock rise rapidly in the past few weeks.
"That's really cool just getting letters and emails but when they actually show up and say you're the kind of guy we're looking for and just out of the blue, that's really exciting," he said. "It kind of all happened after that Nike Camp and the Elite Camp."
Though Portland State remains the only official offer to date for Petty, he thinks that several more are in the works.
"Most of the colleges have said that they want their quarterbacks that they're going to offer at their camp so that they can teach them and work with them and build a relationship," he said.
In turn, Petty has already scheduled out roughly where he would like to go this summer to camp. He has also targeted six schools that are at the top of his list at this point in the process.
"Right now I've got about five or six colleges that I'm trying to get to," he said. "June 5th I'll be at Baylor, June 7th and 8th I'll be at Oklahoma. June 13th and 14th I'll be at Tennessee and somewhere in there, I haven't put a date down, I want to be at Nebraska too. The other two schools that I like are Oklahoma State and Texas A&M."
While Petty clearly has those six schools (Nebraska, A&M, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Baylor and Tennessee) as his favorites at this point, the main common factor is their interest in him.
"Location isn't really a big deal," he said. "Right now I guess it's just the most interest that they have. I've been on their sites and stuff and seen who they have on their staff and who is on their rosters. I know about their towns and stuff but I haven't really sat down and looked at the campus itself. I'm hoping I do that at the camps. Those six stand out because of the interest that they have in me and that I have in them."
