Six offers on table for Georgia RB

Lilburn (Ga.) Parkview running back Brad Lester is preparing for a busy month coming out of the May recruiting period.
“I had a lot of people calling or coming to school,” he said. “I think we counted about 27 or 28 by the end of the month. Some of the main ones were Virginia, Auburn, Ole Miss, Tennessee, Kentucky, Notre Dame, Clemson, South Carolina, Duke, Indiana, BYU, Northwestern… It’s hard to remember them all.”

Considered one of the Peach State’s top backs for the Class of 2004, Lester (5-11, 183, 4.4) now has offers from Virginia, South Carolina, Duke, Indiana, Northwestern and Tennessee State.
“I don’t have anyone I’d call a leader at this point,” he said, “but I like Virginia, Ole Miss, Notre Dame, Tennessee, Kentucky, Duke, Indiana and Northwestern a lot.
“I’m going to camp at Tennessee next week and up to Virginia on the 21st. I like the amount of interest Virginia has shown. They really seem to want me a lot. I like their academics there and the good running backs they’ve developed over the years. They’ll probably have another one going to the league next year. Their program seems to be getting really strong.
“With Tennessee, I like how they always feature their running backs. They like to rotate two or three guys and get them a lot of carries. That’s attractive to me.”
Lester said Georgia is still on his list, but hasn’t shown as much interest as the other schools. “They’d still be in the mix if they did,” he added. Surprisingly, he said that Georgia Tech has not been in contact.
As a junior, Lester rushed for 1,630 yards (9.0 average) and 15 touchdowns in helping lead Parkview to the Class 5A state championship.
