Six offers in for DE LaLota

Princeton (N.J.) The Hun School regularly features Division I talent. 2009 is no different as the school is home to a stud defensive end that already has six scholarship offers.
"Right now I have six offers from Michigan State, Maryland, West Virginia, Virginia, Rutgers and Stanford," defensive end Anthony LaLota stated. "I'm also expecting offers from several other schools including North Carolina, Vanderbilt and Connecticut.

"I'm hearing from two other schools, Penn State and Pittsburgh."
What does LaLota think of the offers?
"All of the schools showing interest stand out to me," he said. "Every school has something that appeals to me and I'm in the process of evaluating schools and keeping my options open."
Already LaLota has visited one school and plans to take trips to three others.
"I went to Rutgers for a junior day a couple weeks ago," he said. "This weekend I'm going to Virginia. I'm planning on visiting UConn next weekend and I'm thinking about Maryland on March 8th. My plans after that are open. I think I may attend the Elite College Combine on May 1st.
"I just want to check out the athletic facilities, speak to the coaches and see the environment."
With no clear favorites, what does the 6-foot-6, 255-pounder want in a school?
"Strong academics are extremely important to me," he said. "I also want a strong football program, a nice campus and just somewhere I can feel comfortable and fit in well with the people.
"I think I want to go into business. I'm not sure about location. I'm still thinking about that at this point. I just want a team that is committed to being successful and is going to be a winning program."
LaLota helped his team to a 9-0 record and a league title as he posted 40 tackles, 10 sacks, two forced fumbles and one deflection.
"It was our first undefeated season in awhile," he stated. "The guys really clicked together and we built chemistry.
"I think I did well. It was my first year playing and I tried to use my natural athletic ability and learned as much as I could. I think I played with a lot of energy and enthusiasm. I have a relentless motor.
"Going into next year I have to keep lifting and improve my speed training."
