Six in mix for Rivals100 WR

When you have almost 40 scholarship offers and almost every major program in the country knocking at your door, narrowing a list can be a difficult task.
Such is the case for five-star Palm Bay (Fla.) wideout Xavier Carter.

Carter (6-3, 190, 4.35) listed eight schools of primary interest in his last Rivals100 interview in June, and now has six.
“My top schools are Florida, LSU, South Carolina, UCLA, Miami and Notre Dame,” he said. “Those aren’t in any particular order. It’s too close between them to say right now.”
The Fighting Irish are a new addition. Tennessee, Texas and Oklahoma had been on his previous list.
“I’m still pretty much open on everything,” Carter said. “There could be some other schools sneak in at some point. But these are the ones I’m most familiar with and most comfortable with at this point.”
Carter has two camp appearances coming up this month: Florida on the 19th and LSU on the 26th.
As a junior, he caught 28 passes for 757 yards (27 ypc) and nine touchdowns. He’s also one of the nation’s brightest young sprinters in track and field. He plans to double in both sports wherever he attends college.
Carter (3.3 GPA, 770 SAT) said he doesn’t expect to make an early decision.
