Six early offers for Mizzell

One of the top junior running backs in Virginia is Taquan Mizzell of Virginia Beach (Va.) Bayside. Mizzell is approaching ten offers and has taken one visit this fall, while also being a major piece of his teams run towards a state title.
"I have been getting a lot of looks from a lot of other colleges besides the offers I do have," said Mizzell. "Florida State, Michigan State, Penn State, North Carolina, South Carolina, Nebraska, Notre Dame, Duke, Oregon, Maryland and maybe a couple more I'm forgetting."

While all of these schools are showing increased interest, schools like Virginia, Virginia Tech, Purdue, Vanderbilt, N.C. State and East Carolina have all already offered Mizzell. To this point, Mizzell has only taken one visit this fall, but is hoping to check out a couple more schools.
"I went to a Virginia game, and hopefully I can check out a couple more teams," said Mizzell. "I'd like to visit Virginia Tech, Maryland, East Carolina, Vandy and Tennessee. Tennessee has a lot of interest too."
Mizzell does not claim any early favorites, but is obviously happy with all of the early recruiting success.
"It feels great," said Mizzell, who is 5-foot-10 and 180-pounds. "It's one of my best feelings to reach some of my goals."
Finally, Mizzell gave a quick update on his ongoing junior season.
"I'm not sure exactly how many yards I have, but I have around 21 or 22 touchdowns," said Mizzell. "I had a couple of games that I had a little ankle injury too. I think I'm smarter, faster, quicker, stronger and I learned a lot from last year."
