Nico Siragusa would like to make his decision in December so he still has some time to figure things out but the Chula Vista (Calif.) Mater Dei offensive tackle said he would definitely like to visit two schools in particular before making his commitment.
UCLA and San Diego State are standing out the most to Siragusa, a 6-foot-6, 300-pound three-star prospect who looked good this spring at the Los Angeles Under Armour Combine.
The Bruins have not offered yet but Siragusa has been to their campus numerous times and said he really likes the coaching staff.
"I went up there for a couple camps and I like the campus and the coaches," Siragusa said. "Coach (Tim) Hundley and coach Angus (McClure) are great guys. It's close but it's not too close and they have a good thing going on up there."
San Diego State has been recruiting Siragusa the longest and that means something to the local prospect who said he'll figure out which other three schools receive official visits later on. The Aztecs are definitely on the visit schedule.
"I like San Diego State because they were there from the beginning," Siragusa said. "They keep recruiting me pretty hard."
Siragusa just picked up a new offer from New Mexico State and also has Colorado, Fresno State, San Jose State, SMU, UNLV and Washington State on his offer list.
His plan is to take official trips to UCLA and San Diego State for sure and then figure out the other three soon.
"I'm probably going to pick my five top schools and I'm probably going to take my five official visits," Siragusa said. "After that I'll make my decision."
