Singleton has a high ceiling

Jersey City (N.J.) St. Peter's Prep safety D.J. Singleton has four verbal offers so at least several coaching staffs believe he has what it takes to be a big-time player in college.
Singleton's offers are from Miami, North Carolina and Rutgers, and he has already been to two of those schools.

He has visited Rutgers and Miami, plus UConn, and he seems to be focused on the schools he has been to so far. That's not to say the Tar Heels are lagging behind. He just needs to visit before he says more.
"Out of all the schools I've visited I like them the same so far," Singleton said, declining to list any favorites.
The 6-foot-3, 200-pound safety is a physically imposing specimen in the defensive backfield, covering a lot of space and packing a punch when he makes contact with receivers and running backs.
Singleton was scheduled to take a trip to Maryland recently but those plans fell through.
"I couldn't go to Maryland last week," he said. "Right now I'm just going to the NUC Showcase on Saturday (Oakland, N.J.)."
