Sinclair focused on playoffs

Jacksonville (Fla.) Mandarin safety Gerrod Sinclair has helped lead his team into the second round of the playoffs. Right now that is where all of his focus is, but he is keeping recruiting in the back of his mind.
“I have really started to narrow it down some recently,” Sinclair said. “Florida State, Georgia Tech and LSU would all three be my favorites as of right now. I am trying to set up official visits with all three of them.”

The 6-foot, 208-pound safety attended the NIKE camp in early April, where he ran the 40-yard dash in 4.62 seconds, ran the shuttle in 4.53 seconds and had a 31-inch vertical jump.
“We won in the first round and now we are in the second round,” Sinclair said. “If we can win this week, we’ll have a shot at this thing. I am just trying to focus on my season right now. I will set up the visits after that.”
During his junior campaign, Sinclair accumulated 80 tackles and picked off nine passes. He second team all-state honors for 6A as a junior.
