Charlotte (N.C.) Myers Park safety Tyree Simpson has three offers. The 6-foot-1, 204-pounder is hoping to wrangle a few more offers soon.
"I've got offers from ECU, Western Carolina and a verbal from Ball State," he said. "I'm hearing from Illinois, Tennessee, NC State and Auburn.
"I heard through my coach that Coach Zook called him. He was going to offer, but wants to wait on my ACT first."
Simpson planned to hit a few camps this summer, but strained his groin.
"I did make it to UNC. That was the only camp I went to this summer," he said. "They said they really liked me and thought I'm a real good player. The problem is their roster is too deep at safety."
Are there any leaders right now for the Carolina prospect?
"I'd say I like Auburn and Illinois," he said. "It's the coaches and the way they act towards me. They want good character players and good people off the field."
Simpson will return to the field on August 1st to start two-a-days with Myers Park.
