Simpson has 'love' for the Seminoles

Jaylin Simpson would love to play on the next level with his teammate and close friend Jashawn Sheffield, and like Sheffield, Simpson has a lot of love for Florida.

Sheffield details his interest in FSU here and Simpson has very similar feelings about the garnet and gold.

"Florida State really feels like home to me," said Sheffield. "I see it as a place that I can live, be happy at, and where I can go out and play for four years.

I was born in Georgia, but I really feel like I am a Florida boy. I like the weather, I love the campus and just has that home feel to me."

The 5-foot-11, 165 pound junior has traveled to Tallahassee (Fla.) to visit Florida State around four five times. Not only do the coaches make Simpson feel welcome, but the players do as well.

"The coaches make sure I am happy and they always treat me very well. They say all the right things to me and I like being around them and I like being around the players too.

"I have talked to some of the players at Florida State, and they have told me about Jimbo Fisher keeping his word and how they trust in him. I really try to take in what the players say because I feel they will keep it real with me and tell me the truth.

"They all are just fun guys to be around and the players and coaches just make me feel at home."

Over the summer, Simpson took a trip through the Sunshine State, visiting Florida, Florida State and Miami. All have offered, as many others have including Georgia and Ohio State, but Fisher's program is leading the way as Simpson gets going in his junior year at St. Simons Island (Ga.) Frederica Academy.

"I would have to say that Florida State is on top of my list," said Simpson. "It comes down to me feeling at home. There is nothing about Florida State that I don't like.

"I can honestly say that it feels like it could be the school for me. I am not ready to commit yet, but I do love Florida State."

Simpson is the No. 21-ranked cornerback in the 2019 class.
