Defensive end Clinton Simpkins has been sitting on four offers for a few weeks now and he's hoping to increase that number. What are his plans for the summer months?
The 6-foot-3, 215-pound prospect from Fredericksburg (Va.) Chancellor is still holding onto offers from Kentucky, NC State, West Virginia and East Carolina.
He's been receiving interest from schools like North Carolina, Virginia and Virginia Tech in the past. What is he up to these days?
"I'm actually running track right now so I'm mostly working on my speed," he said. "Coaches have been dropping in from time to time. I'm basically just lifting and getting stronger and faster these days."
While his primary focus hasn't been on recruiting recently, he has managed to build some good relationships with college coaches.
"Yes, I have good relationships with all the schools that have offered me. I would say those four are all about even right now.
"I haven't really thought about going to camps right now. I'm not saying (it's not going to happen), though. In fact I probably will when that time comes. But I don't know where I'll go for any one or two day camps yet."
Simpkins also revealed that he would like to make his final decision by the middle of his senior season at the latest.
