Simpkins visits WVU

Defensive end Clinton Simpkins took an unofficial visit this past weekend. The Fredericksburg (Va.) Chancellor prospect made his way to one of his four offers. What did he think?
"I took an unofficial to West Virginia," he stated. "I really enjoyed it. I like the atmosphere down there and enjoyed the game. I got to see all the guys in action.

"They played Rutgers and I was watching the offense and defense. I like how their defense is set up. That is something I could see myself doing."
Simpkins didn't get a chance to talk to the coaches much on the trip.
"Not really, I got to see them in the locker room and just say hi while they were warming up."
What is next for the three-star prospect?
"I have plans to visit the other three offers (Kentucky, NC State, East Carolina)," he said. "Right now no team is the frontrunner. I have to check them all out and then I can start narrowing things down.
"I am starting to think about official visits as well."
The No. 32 weakside defensive end has helped Chancellor to a 5-0 season so far.
"Our season is going very well," he said. "We're coming off a bye week and we're going to do big things.
"I'm doing well. I have about 60 tackles so far. I'm not sure on sacks. I have seen a big improvement in my ability. Coaches harped on me in the weight room and I've gotten stronger and faster."
