Simms recommits to Cardinals

New Louisville head coach Steve Kragthorpe made a stop through Ramsey (N.J.) Don Bosco Prep to meet with quarterback Matt Simms. Report quickly surfaced that the 6-foot-2, 200-pounder had recommitted to the Cardinals, is there any truth to the rumors?
"No, I'm still looking around," he said. "I actually have a visit set with North Carolina State this weekend.

"I decided to go there because I built a good relationship with coach O'Brien when he was at Boston College. I went to camp there during the summer and then once he got the North Carolina State job, he called us up to see if I'm still interested. So I decided I want to go out there and see coach Bible and O'Brien before I make any type of decision, whatever happens there, happens."
Louisville is still in the picture for the three-star prospect as Kragthorpe met with Simms Tuesday night.
"He did come by my house a couple nights ago," he said. "It was a good meeting. I learned a lot from him and got to see what his offense is like. He seemed like a good coach and was very knowledgeable of the game. That was the most impressive part for me.
"I liked what I saw from him, but I'm up in the air. I went to Michigan State and I want to go to NC State before I do anything. Once I do that, I'm not sure what will happen next I'm just playing it by day."
At this time, Simms hasn't scheduled an official to Louisville although he did claim he may try to set one up soon.
