Simmons focusing on three

Long Beach (Calif.) Linwood linebacker Marlin Simmons is still in the middle of his senior season of football. And for now, the recruiting is on hold.
“We have a chance to win the championship still,” the 6-foot-1, 210-pound Simmons said. “We have got three games to go. None of them will be easy.”

While several schools have remained in contact, three have moved to the front for the three-star rated linebacker.
“My favorite schools are USC, Oregon and Kansas State,” he said. “There is no particular order to the three, either. They are all the same. I haven’t lined up any visits yet. I’ll do that. I’ve talked to them about coming to visit.”
Simmons, the younger brother of USC linebacker Melvin and K-State linebacker Marvin has always hoped of playing with his older brothers.
“It is important to play with a brother, but I want to go where is best for me,” he said. “Melvin won’t be there next year. Marvin will be. But, I don’t know if that is a deciding factor or not. I don’t need a decision before February so I would need it done in January sometime. That’s when I would look for it.”
On the season Simmons has recorded almost 100 tackles and five quarterback sacks.
