Simeon Thomas decision on horizon

Simeon Thomas, three-star defensive back from Carol City High School in Miami Gardens, Fla., is closing in on making his college decision. A final trip before his senior season is on tap.
"I have been to Florida, USF, and UCF," said Thomas. "I am going to Ole Miss for a visit in a week. Those are the only visits I have taken so far.

"The schools recruiting me the hardest are UCF, USF and Ole Miss. Ole Miss is recruiting me harder. They are saying I could play as a true freshman. I would have to say Ole Miss is my top school right now."
Thomas has never visited Oxford, but he has a close relationship with his recruiting coach. He is excited about the future for the Rebels.
"I have been talking to coach McGriff a lot," Thomas said. "We have long talks. He tells me how it is. I have never been to Ole Miss before. I am looking forward to the trip.
"Their program is great. They had a minor set back. When teams have set backs there are always a major comeback. I think they are going to be special. They have 20 commitments right now. Everything I read about them is great. Coach McGriff told me I should come see it for myself."
The 6-foot-3, 185-pound prospect is recruited by the Rebels as a cornerback. A decision is expected soon.
"I am trying to make a decision before my first game," Thomas said. "I am looking for academics. I want to play early. I will wait my turn if that is the case. I would like to get on the field as a true freshman. I want to have great bond with the players and the coaches."
