Charles Silas has been reported as a verbal commitment to both
Arkansas and South Carolina in recent days, but it appears he'll wind up closer
to home.
"It's our understanding he's committing to South
Carolina," said GMC assistant Rob Manchester. "But Arkansas has been working him
pretty hard, so it's still kind of up in the air. We think it will be South
Carolina, though."
Silas (6-5, 235, 4.7) is one of the top defensive end
prospects on the junior college level. He played his high school football at
Swainsboro High School in Georgia, originally signing with South Carolina, and was placed at GMC by the Gamecocks.
