Sibley the center of state-wide battle

Greensville (Miss.) Greenville-Weston defensive tackle John Sibley has really become one of the hottest targets in the state of Mississippi. He went from an under-recruited defensive tackle early in the process to becoming one of the bigger battles between Ole Miss and Mississippi State.
And at this point State holds the upper hand – still.

“The main reason is coach (Brick) Haley,” Sibley, who is 6-foot-2 and 274 pounds, said. “I like how he’s recruiting me. He’s being honest with me about the depth charts and how I would fit in there.”
Sibley said he’s still going to give both schools a fair shake, though. He’s set to visit MSU on January 14 and then Ole Miss on January 21. He’s also talking some to Auburn, and he was talking to Florida but the Gators have lost contact since the coaching change in Gainesville.
Sibley did have a happy Thanksgiving – especially after eating some very good dressing.
“There was some duck in it,” he said. “Man that was some good stuff.”
