Shugarts sets first official visit

Klein, Texas offensive lineman J.B. Shugarts is going to Plan B. While he planned on making his college choice prior to the 2007 season, it appears that the coveted tackle will take some official visits during the season.
"I think he might push it back a little bit," father Brett Shugarts said. "We've set up an official visit at LSU the first week in September when they host Virginia Tech (Sept. 7)."

After taking in a practice and another tour around Texas A&M last week, Shugarts will be heading to Oklahoma to see their spring game. He also plans on heading up to Ohio State later this month as well and going to Florida's "Friday Night Lights" event.
"J.B. has LSU among his favorites," Shugarts said. "I don't want him to make an emotional decision though. It's easy to get caught up when you have these big programs really recruiting you and rolling out the red carpet. He just needs to make a decision that will fit him and it may take a little longer than first expected."
Shugarts recently received an official offer from Penn State. According to Shugarts, the Lions had thought that he had received his official offer months ago, but made it official last week.
