Klein, Texas J.B. Shugarts is making room for another school.
The 6-foot-7, 302-pound offensive lineman talked with Alabama coach Nick Saban on signing day and is willing to listen to Crimson Tide boss.
"It would be crazy for us not to be open to him," father Bret Shugarts said. "He's a great coach, the tradition is second to none, and the facilities are great."
Alabama assistant coach Major Applewhite has officially offered Shugarts.
Shugarts will be attending the Rivals.com junior day in Houston this weekend and is not going to the Texas junior day in Austin. According to the Shugarts' father, he really liked the Oklahoma junior day last weekend.
"They really showed J.B. and Sam McGuffie some great attention," he said. "All of the coaches did a great job with them. I see a couple of the kids at that camp verbally committing over the next few weeks.
"They are not in-your-face high pressure coaches, but they let you know that they want you. Coach (Bob) Stoops stood up in front of all the guys and told them that he was there for the long haul."
To date, Shugarts lists Oklahoma, Ohio State, Michigan, Florida, Texas, LSU and Alabama as his favorites in no particular order.
